Things I’d share if we were to sit #acrossthetable
Happy November! I celebrated my 42nd birthday last month and my Mom is visiting with us for a while so it was a good and full October but my heart is ready and in need of November.
A little honesty here, my heart has been more anxious and fearful than grateful, especially waiting on election results. So, I’m looking forward to intentionally, with my family, turning my heart to focus on the many many things we have to be thankful for.
Reading
Grit & Virtue has a helpful feature on its website of Journal Prompts. This one on Overcoming Fear is really good. These are great questions to unearth and process your own fears on paper but also great questions to ask others #nrl when they are dealing with similar things. They also have other topics like Career & Self Reflection.
Watching
This election speech from John McCain after the 2006 election. Such a great example of leadership and how our influence matters. He could have used their boos to ignite hate and conspiracy but instead, he leads them to think in a more noble way.
Wearing
I wore this shirt on my boy’s birthday that was created by a black female artist I met years ago as a college student involved in the campus ministry we worked. Check her out @keishaoak to see her work and click her link in bio to purchase prints or apparel.
Planning
To make these Apple Cider Churros w/ Salted Caramel Dipping Sauce this weekend.
How are you planning to cultivate a heart of gratefulness this month and what are you cooking this weekend?
